    Congratulations to Professor Alexandre Campeau-Lecours


    Last May, Professor Alexandre Campeau-Lecours of the Mechanical Engineering Department won the young researchers award at the scientific INTER-REPAR 2016 Day.  Organized by the Quebec Rehabilitation research Network and the Interactive technologies of engineering in rehabilitation (INTER)this contest was open to teachers who obtained their PhD / postdoctoral less than three years ago. Professor Campeau-Lecours presented his work in the field of technical aids. Entitled "Development of intelligent algorithms to increase the efficiency of assistance JACO robot", the presentation was about JACO, a robotic assistance system designed by the Montreal company Kinova to help people with disabilities of the upper body to gain autonomy. This system is installed on a motorized wheelchair and allows multiple tasks such as eating, drinking, grasp objects, open and close doors. The algorithms developed by Professor Campeau-Lecours and the Kinova team, are currently used by approximately 600 users in over 25 countries.
